The New York Yankees beat the New York Mets 6-4 on Sunday to snap their six-game losing streak, and they did it without one of their most reliable hitters recently.

Infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (shoulder) sat out after going a combined 3-for-7 with a solo homer and a walk in the first two games of the series. The 27-year-old is also on a four-game hitting streak and slashed .318/.378/.614 with seven homers and 19 RBI in June.

Starting pitcher Max Fried picked up his 11th win of the season after giving up three runs in five innings, and the Yankees produced 12 hits, including two homers. The good news continued after the game, as Chisholm was named an AL All-Star.

The former Miami Marlin opened up about his accomplishment postgame, via SNY.

"It's pretty great to work hard and get the recognition, it's amazing," he said.

Chisholm is slashing .245/.341/.500 with 15 homers and 38 RBI over 59 games this season. The veteran missed the entirety of May with an oblique injury.

This is Chisholm's second All-Star season, as he was an NL All-Star in 2022. The Yankees acquired him from the Marlins at the trade deadline last year, and he slashed .273/.325/.500 with 11 homers and 23 RBI over 46 games to close out the regular season.

Up next for the Yankees is a homestand against the Seattle Mariners and Chicago Cubs. Right-handed pitcher Will Warren (5-4, 5.02 ERA) will start for the Yankees on Tuesday against Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert (2-2, 3.40 ERA).
