Angel Reese comes clean.
Angel Reese Does Not Hide What She Did Wrong In Chicago Sky's Loss To Lynx originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Chicago Sky just didn’t have enough in the tank to overcome a tough challenge from the league-best Minnesota Lynx on Monday night. The Sky were coming off an upset win against the Lynx on Saturday, 87-81, but Naphessea Collier and Co. made sure that there wasn’t going to be a repeat of their unexpected loss.
Chicago fought, but ultimately suffered a 91-78 loss, marking their 14th defeat of the season.
Angel Reese turned in another strong performance in this one, though, registering a team-high 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, to go along with 10 rebounds, three assists and a block in 37 minutes of play. It still wasn’t enough.
After the game, Reese opened up about her own shortcomings in the loss.
"Trying to give my teammates as much as I can,” she said, via Sky reporter Karli Bell on X. “I know they need me. Tonight, I needed to do a better job of kicking it out instead of turning the ball over."
Reese turned the ball over five times on Monday, which represented a significant chunk of Chicago’s 18 turnovers on the evening. The 23-year-old took full responsibility for her errors, opting to highlight the same in her postgame press conference.
Reese was able to keep her hot streak going, though, marking her ninth straight double-double. While it was another noteworthy outing from the two-time All-Star, she’s also made it abundantly clear that she’s focusing more on the loss than on her individual performance.
