High praise, but still not quite the top of her list.
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark may still be battling through various injuries, but her popularity remains at an all-time high. The second-year star was recently voted a captain for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, earning more fan votes than anyone else in the league. Despite missing 10 games, Clark continues to be a central figure in conversations about the future of the WNBA.
Her stats have lowered slightly from her rookie season; she’s averaging 16.7 points per game on 37.4 percent shooting, compared to 19.2 points on 41.7 percent last year. Still, her playmaking is improving. Clark now leads the league with 9.0 assists per game, up from 8.4 last season.

Even with that growth, WNBA legend Candace Parker says Clark isn’t quite at the top just yet.
Candace Parker picks three WNBA stars she ranks above Caitlin Clark
Parker recently appeared on Complex Sports to rank current WNBA players using a tier system. When it came time to name her “S-tier” players, the league’s absolute best, she chose three standouts without hesitation.
“A’ja Wilson. MVP, multiple Defensive Player of the Years, two championships,” Parker said. “If there was a level above S, she’d be there. Then you’ve got Napheesa Collier. She’s elite on both ends. And Breanna Stewart. The versatility, the winning, she’s got three titles.”
Parker then moved to the next tier and placed Clark there, along with other top talents.
“Caitlin Clark is an A-level player right now. She’s on her way to that top tier, but it’s going to take more time,” Parker explained. “She has the tools. She just needs a couple more seasons.”
Also in Parker’s A-tier were Sparks standout Kelsey Plum and Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu.
Clark and the Fever are seeking for their third straight win as they face the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night.
