Stade Brestois want to sign ESTAC Troyes central defender Junior Diaz (21), according to L’Equipe.
L’Equipe reports that Brest are not alone in their interest in Diaz – RC Lens, FC Lorient, and Belgian club Royal Antwerp are also keen on the Ivory Coast U23 international. Brest are yet to make a signing in this summer’s transfer window but have identified Diaz as a key target.
Diaz is a product of the FC Nantes academy. He made 26 appearances for Nantes B but never featured for the first team. He spent the 2023–24 season on loan in Ligue 2 with FC Annecy. After returning to Nantes at the end of the loan spell, Diaz was sold to Troyes — part of the City Group — for €2.5 million. He made 34 Ligue 2 appearances for Troyes last season as the club finished 10th.
Diaz’ current Troyes contract runs until 2029 and L’Equipe reports that Brest could sign him on loan rather than a permanent deal.
