After seven seasons of wearing that iconic Miami jersey, it’s finally time for Duncan Robinson to turn the page. The sharpshooter and the Heat are officially parting ways as he heads north to join the Detroit Pistons for his next chapter.
But before packing up and hitting the road, Robinson took a moment to show some love to the city and team that gave him his shot. He shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, looking back at all the moments, big shots, big games and everything in between that made his time in Miami something he’ll never forget.
The video was shared on Instagram with one word that encapsulated everything Robinson felt. The caption said, “MIAMI,” which he accompanied with a red heart emoji.

The Pistons just made it official that they’re bringing in Duncan Robinson through a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat, sending Simone Fontecchio the other way.
Robinson, who’s 6'7" and 215 pounds, spent all seven years of his NBA career with the Heat, playing in 423 games and starting in 283 of them. He’s known for his sharpshooting, knocking down nearly 40% of his threes, which puts him among the top active shooters in the league.
In the playoffs, he’s been solid too, helping Miami reach the postseason six years straight, including those big Finals runs in 2020 and 2023. Not bad for a player who went undrafted and started his college career at a tiny Division III school before transferring to Michigan.
He even made history as the first D-III transfer to play in an NBA game. Now, he’s bringing that sweet shooting stroke to Detroit, hoping to light it up for the Pistons.
