Atlanta keeps the pieces moving.
The Kevin Durant 7-team trade isn't quite done moving pieces around.
On Monday, the Hawks requested release waivers on David Roddy, who came from Houston to Atlanta in the completed deal on Sunday.
Roddy was the 23rd overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Colorado State.
At 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, he was always going to be an odd NBA fit, despite his clear basketball skill.
Roddy has played in 168 NBA games across five teams already, including the Grizzlies, Hawks, Suns, Rockets and 76ers.
He may be looking for another one after being waived.

Roddy isn't without hope. He has averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
He probably needs to lift his 3-point shooting to better than his career 30.2% mark.
But he is always one of the smartest players on the floor. It's how you make the NBA as an undersized power forward.
To stick around, he'll have to continue to get better. Seems like it simply won't be a chance in Atlanta, where he had been on a two-way contract at the time of his acquisition.
Ironically, the Hawks have waived Roddy twice this year. They also did so in February when they made deals at the trade deadline.
