Kate Martin was incredible for this.
Kate Martin Turns Heads With Stylish Pregame Handshakes originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
When Kate Martin arrived in the WNBA after being selected by the Las Vegas Aces in the second round of the 2024 draft, she was able to quickly integrate herself with the team and the community. Unfortunately, her time in Las Vegas was short-lived, as she was taken by the Golden State Valkyries in the expansion draft.
Despite joining a new franchise that has yet to establish its own culture and playing with a new set of teammates, Martin was able to adjust quickly once again.
In 17 games so far with the Valkyries, Martin has averaged 7.4 points and 2.6 rebounds, all while shooting 36% from the field.
Aside from an increased role with the Valkyries, Martin has also shown that she has a great connection with the rest of her teammates.Β
Prior to Monday's game against the Atlanta Dream, Martin was spotted doing different handshakes with a number of teammates β a moment that quickly drew plenty of reactions.

"I could not remember those moves," a commenter wrote, clearly impressed by the handshakes that Martin could remember. Another one said, "love money Martin man. Valkyries is a fun team."
"A happy Marin is a dangerous Money in the bank Martin," a fan added.
A supporter joked, "Sheβs multi-lingual!"
"Everyone loves Kate," a follower gushed.
"From Noggin bumps to individual handshakes, Money carrying on the pregame hype traditions," a sixth poster remarked.
While the Valkyries ended up losing to the Dream 90-81 despite Martin recording 11 points in the contest, there's no denying that the team's pregame antics still made it quite a memorable sight for the viewers.
