Angel Reese chasing sixth straight double-double vs Washington Mystics Tuesday
Angel Reese Points Out Big Change Before Chicago Sky Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are on the road Tuesday morning to face the Washington Mystics. While both teams sit near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, each is hoping to shift momentum heading into the second half of the WNBA season.
Chicago has shown signs of improvement recently, playing with more intensity and consistency. Reese, one of the key drivers of that energy, will look to notch her sixth consecutive double-double in this matchup.
Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post spoke with Reese following Chicago’s morning shootaround. The second-year forward praised the team’s recent effort and shared how close they’ve been to breaking through.
“Yeah, I think for our team, our effort has been much better since our Atlanta game,” Reese said. “We've just had a different type of urgency with wanting to win, and we've been so close.”

Despite the tough losses, Reese emphasized the team’s progress.
“We take little steps and take our little wins while we can, and we are only going to continue to get better. It’s just great to see that we continue to keep our efforts high.”
Reese also reflected on her individual development this season.
“For myself, I just trust my work. Struggled early on, didn’t make any excuses, put my head down and just grinded, and trusted God. So I’m just happy to be in the position I am now and just continue to help my teammates the best I can.”
Reese averaged 12.6 points and 12.8 rebounds per game so far this season. In her rookie year, she appeared in 34 games, averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game while playing over 32 minutes per game.
She has been selected to participate in the WNBA All-Star Game later this month.
After Tuesday’s game in Washington, the Sky will return home to host the Dallas Wings on Wednesday.
