The Los Angeles Clippers still have moves to make this offseason after trading for John Collins and it seems one of the biggest names still available has at least thought about the Clippers as one of his options.
Report: Clippers One of Four Teams Bradley Beal 'Has Thought About' originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Los Angeles Clippers made their first big move of the offseason today.
In a three-team trade, they landed former Utah Jazz power forward John Collins.
The move addressed a major issue the team had during the 2024-25 season, but the team is likely still looking to make some more big moves this offseason.
A player who has been brought up as an option to be involved in one of those big moves has apparently at least considered the idea of joining the Clippers this offseason.
According to The Athletic's Fred Katz, the Clippers are one of four teams that Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal "has thought about" as he prepares to potentially be bought out by the Suns.
The other three teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Golden State Warriors.
The Clippers just opened up a role on their team that Beal would be an obvious fit for.
In the deal that got them Collins, they traded away Norman Powell.
Powell's scoring ability made him an important piece of their offense during the 2024-25 season as he averaged 21.8 points per game while the Clippers scored 112.9 points per game.
Collins will pick up some of that slack after scoring 18.9 points per game this past season, but the Clippers still need to add somebody in the backcourt who can spark their offense.
Beal could be that guy. His move to Phoenix hasn't worked out at all, but he can still score. He averaged 17 points per game this past season.
That was in an offense that ran through Kevin Durant and Devin Booker and lacked somebody who could create for their teammates at a high level.
He wouldn't face those same obstacles with the Clippers as James Harden remains a very good creator and the Clippers' stars don't score in quite the same volume as Durant and Booker.
They would have to sign Beal for the $5.3 million they have left of their mid-level exception, but that might not be an issue for him as he collects his buyout money.
The Clippers roster still isn't a finished product, but a move for Beal would get them a lot closer and help them continue towards becoming a real threat in the West.
