In one of the biggest shockers of the offseason, the Bucks pulled off a move that no one really saw coming, they swooped in and landed Myles Turner fresh off his impressive run to the NBA finals with the Pacers.

Turner was a huge part of that Pacers squad, anchoring their defense and stepping up when it mattered most, so it’s no surprise that fans and pundits alike have been scratching their heads about this one. But as Turner gets ready to start his new chapter in Milwaukee, the Bucks wasted no time sending him a message welcoming him to the team.

The Bucks took to X to share an image of Turner with a caption that said, “Welcome to Milwaukee, Myles!”

Turner, who spent ten years with the Pacers and became their all-time leader in blocks, signed a four-year, $107 million deal with the Bucks.

What makes it sting even more for Pacers fans is that Tyrese Haliburton will be out all season recovering from a brutal Achilles tear in Game 7. So with Turner gone and Haliburton sidelined, the Pacers suddenly have a pretty rough road ahead.

However, for Bucks fans there are only positives from this trade. Myles Turner is a clear step up over Brook Lopez at this stage in their careers. Turner is younger and brings that same style of play with a bit more juice.

Some fans have been debating whether Turner is really that much of an upgrade, but just think back to that first-round playoff series between the Pacers and Bucks. Turner flat-out outplayed Lopez, so much so that coach Doc Rivers had to shake things up and start Bobby Portis instead. So yeah, bringing Turner in is definitely a win for Milwaukee.
