The Sacramento Kings have had an interesting offseason thus far as they try to turn things around after missing the playoffs once again last season.
Sacramento began the offseason by trading up in the 2025 NBA Draft to select Nique Clifford in the first round and they then drafted Maxime Raynaud in the second round.
They then filled their need at the starting point guard position by signing veteran guard Dennis Schroder and they also made a trade with the Denver Nuggets that saw them swap Jonas Valanciunas for Dario Saric.
While the Kings have had a busy start to the summer, they still have some key decisions to make as both DeMar DeRozan and Malik Monk have been in trade rumors and reportedly could be on the move.
Despite this, the Kings have a major issue regarding DeRozan after a report was released on Monday.
According to Forbes’ Evan Sidery, the trade market for DeRozan is nearly nonexistent and with the two sides open to finding him a new home, there has been no movement thus far.

Sacramento and DeRozan are both open to finding him a new team, but there is currently no movement anywhere on that front.

This is a massive report by Sidery as it appears as though Sacramento may be forced to hold onto DeRozan entering the season unless a team is willing to trade for him.
Of course, the Kings landed DeRozan in a sign-and-trade with the Chicago Bulls last offseason after he had been in trade rumors for multiple seasons during his time with the Bulls.
In his first season in Sacramento, the 35-year-old averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 32.8% from three.
DeRozan is still a great scorer and could definitely help a contending team, though his $25.2 million annual salary over the final two seasons of his contract could be the reason for teams not showing interest in him.
Despite this, a contending team that ends up missing out on some other players this summer could end up becoming a potential destination for DeRozan but as of now, it appears he will remain with the Kings entering next season.
