The Philadelphia Phillies are first in the National League East and are third in the NL overall. While the team has been frustrating at times, the Phillies are still one of baseball's best teams this season.

According to Rob Tornoe of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Phillies, through the first half of the season, have drawn the best viewership in baseball.

"Through the All-Star break," Tornoe writes, "The Phillies averaged about 325,000 viewers per game within the Philly TV market on NBC Sports Philadelphia and NBC10, according to figures obtained by The Inquirer."

It hasn't been the Phillies' best season, but they are still pulling in very strong viewership. That per-game average of 325,000 viewers is the top number in Major League Baseball this season.

"That's more than any other team," Tornoe writes, "including 20% more local viewers than the New York Mets, the second-most-watched MLB team on local TV."

Unsurprisingly, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees are also inside the top five in average local viewership. The Detroit Tigers, amid their MLB-leading season so far, are also inside the top five.

But, none can compare to the Phillies' local viewership, which is 20% better than the next closest team in the Mets.

Tom McCarthy and John Kruk have been a great pairing in the broadcast booth, with Kruk's rants and ramblings endearing him to the Philadelphia faithful. The Phillies being good has also helped the viewership.

Despite the rocky season so far, the Phillies are still in great shape to not only win the division but also get a first-round bye.

At 55-41 coming out of the All-Star break, the Phillies will have plenty of eyes on them the rest of the way. And with potential trade deadline pickups on the way, the Phillies could draw even more interest in the team.

The Phillies have the best viewership in baseball this season on local TV, a sign that even amid the shakiness to begin the year, the Philadelphia fans are tuning in every night to watch the Phillies as they make a World Series run in 2025.
