With how well the Boston Red Sox played heading into the All-Star break, the front office may shut down any trade talks and only look to add to this roster.

That might not be the worst idea, but the Red Sox still have some long-term issues they have to figure out in the outfield, and that could have an impact on Jarren Duran.

Rumors have indicated that the San Diego Padres are very interested in Duran, with many expecting them to land him if  Boston moves on from him.

The most recent ones that predict that Duran would be traded to the Padres were Sportsnaut, noting that despite their 10-game winning streak heading into the break, there's still a path for the Padres to land the left-handed hitting outfielder

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora talks with the media before the team's game against the Chicago White Sox.

“The Boston Red Sox went on a 10-game winning streak before the All-Star Break, thrusting them back into buying mode at the MLB trade deadline. On the surface, that would make trading outfielder Jarren Duran less likely. However, there’s a path to a deal with the San Diego Padres, making both clubs happy and allowing each of them to remain contenders down the stretch,” they wrote.

The last thing the Red Sox need to do here, however, is trade Duran just to trade him.

Of course, there have been parts throughout his career when he hasn't been great, but for the most part, Duran has been excellent.

There's reason to believe that both parties could be interested in a deal, as the Padres have one of the better bullpens in baseball, and the Red Sox would likely love one of those arms.

As long as the package is good enough, nothing can be ruled out.
