New report on Bradley Beal's future emerges on Tuesday.
Lakers, Warriors Receive Unfortunate Bradley Beal Update originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Bradley Beal’s first full campaign with the Phoenix Suns fell well short of expectations. The three-time All-Star, who joined the Suns with hopes of forming a championship trio alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, struggled to find his rhythm last season. He averaged just 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while missing stretches of the season due to injuries.
With the Suns underperforming and ultimately missing the playoffs, Beal’s hefty contract became a major talking point in the offseason. His massive five-year, $251 million deal still has two seasons remaining, but rumblings of a fresh start have only grown louder.
Despite Beal’s no-trade clause limiting Phoenix’s options, talks of a possible contract buyout has gained ground as the franchise looks to reset its roster following a disappointing campaign.
On Tuesday, The Athletic provided an update on Beal's situation. According to the report, the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors have been among the teams registering Beal interest. In fact, he reportedly held some mutual interest as well.
That said, it seems Beal will bypass the opportunity to join the Lakers or Warriors, and instead sign with the LA Clippers.
“As long as Bradley Beal secures a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns, the LA Clippers are the likely leaders to sign the guard," The Athletic wrote.

The report comes as a blow to rivals like the Lakers and Warriors — two teams had been linked to Beal for a while, per NBA Insider Jake Fischer. Both franchises were reportedly monitoring Beal’s situation closely, hoping he could provide an extra scoring punch on the perimeter.
Instead, if a buyout goes through, Beal could join a Clippers roster that already boasts Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. The move would offer Beal a fresh chance to rediscover his scoring form in a less pressured role, while the Clippers would add another dynamic shot creator to its already star-studded offense.
