This would work out for both sides.
The Golden State Warriors brought De'Anthony Melton in before last season as additional shooting.
But in his sixth game with the Warriors, Melton tore his ACL, ending his season.
It sounds like Golden State wants to run it back.
Insider Marc Stein reports that the Warriors are a "strong contender" to sign Melton.
Last year, the Warriors used the full non-taxpayer mid-level exception to sign Melton. That amount this season comes out to $14.104 million.
Melton, 27, has played seven seasons in the NBA, spread across the Suns, Grizzlies 76ers and Warriors.

He's a career 36.9% 3-point shooter, a crucial role on a Golden State team that lacked secondary outside shooting in the playoffs.
Melton also averages 9.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game in his career. He has averaged more than a steal a game in every season he has played in the NBA.
It'd be great for Golden State to get Melton back, see him recover fully from his injury and get a key guard option back into the rotation.
