Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream are finding their rhythm this season. The team recently secured a hard-fought win over the Golden State Valkyries, edging out a 90-81 victory.
Griner played a crucial role, dominating the paint and contributing on both ends of the floor. The 6-foot-9 center has averaged 10 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks a game so far this season, a solid performance from the WNBA veteran.
But off the court, it was a sweet family moment that stole the spotlight. The Dream took to social media to wish Griner’s daughter, Bash, a happy birthday. In a heartwarming post on X, the team wrote: “Born to be a star 🤩 Happy Birthday Bash!” It’s clear the Dream value more than just what their players bring on the court.
Despite this joyful occasion, Griner has faced some recent professional setbacks. On Sunday, she received disappointing news that for the first time since 2021, she was left off the WNBA All-Star roster, missing out on both the starters and reserves lists.
That’s a stark contrast from previous seasons, including the year she was detained in Russia, when she was still honored as an All-Star.

Griner's omission comes at a time when her teammates, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, were selected for the All-Star game. Griner is a 10-time All-Star, tied for third-most in league history.
Amid some controversies this season which resulted on scrutiny over alleged comments involving Caitlin Clark, Griner has remained mostly silent, letting her play do the talking. With the Dream standing by her, both in support and celebration, it’s clear Griner remains an integral part of the franchise and its future.
