The Chicago Sky have gotten a major boost for Wednesday's showdown against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings at Wintrust Arena. This comes in the form of starting center Kamilla Cardoso returning from her stint at the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup in Santiago, Chile, where she represented Brazil.

Cardoso made her way back to the United States after Sunday's heartbreaking loss to Team USA in the final. After going undefeated throughout the tournament, Brazil suffered their first loss in their last game, 92-84, which saw them settle for a silver medal.

Cardoso was a major driving force for Brazil in the AmeriCup, earning All Star Five honors behind averages of 14.9 points on 67.8% shooting, 9.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks in seven appearances.

The 6-foot-6 center will now be looking to carry that momentum to Thursday's contest as she hopes to help the Sky get back to winning ways after back-to-back losses.

Cardoso's return drew an excited message from the WNBA on social media.

"KAMILLA'S BACK TONIGHT 🔥 Cardoso dropped a career-high 27 PTS & 7 REB in her last outing… now she’s back in action vs. the Wings at 8pm/ET on League Pass 📲" the league posted on X.

As the WNBA noted in its post, Cardoso will be looking to pick up right where she left off following her career performance against the Los Angeles Sparks on June 24.

She could be forced to carry a heavier load for the Sky, though, with Angel Reese in danger of missing Wednesday's contest with a leg injury. As of writing, Reese remains a game-time decision.

If Reese is out, Cardoso will need to step it up for the Sky's shorthanded frontcourt. This is despite the fact that Cardoso played seven games in 10 days in Chile.
