The Minnesota Timberwolves are off to the NBA Summer League with some players ready to stand out. Most people will look at the second-year players like Terrence Shannon Jr. and Rob Dillingham.

However, most people within the Timberwolves organization are also impressed with what they are seeing from their rookies. This includes their first-round pick, the 6'10" center Joan Beringer from France.

As a prospect who has only played basketball for a few years, Beringer is a prodigious talent. He is a raw player, and everyone within the Timberwolves organization is aware of this. However, they also know he has immense potential.

Based on the practices they have had, the Timberwolves' coaches are already impressed. That is a good sign for the long-term future with this young big man.

Beringer Continues To Receive Huge Praise From His Coaches

When looking at the Timberwolves' current roster, they have two reliable big men in Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid. Julius Randle can play small-ball center from time to time, but that won't be the case often.

That is why it is important to have new big men in the Draft, so getting the 6'10" Beringer with the 17th overall pick was a clear choice. In the second round, they got Rocco Zikarsky from Australia, who is even bigger at 7'3".

Now that they have four big men on the roster, the Timberwolves can be much more flexible. They could develop their young big men in preparation for the long-term future.

"He wants to be great, he’s like super receptive to coaching, he’s asking questions and really good questions," Assistant coach max Lefevre said about Beringer. "Obviously he’s super raw, so we just have to make sure we cover the basics first, especially the language... He's just getting things done by pure talent and athleticism."

The Timberwolves Have A Bright Future With Their Youth

Despite Anthony Edwards firmly establishing himself as a superstar for the past five seasons, he is still part of the young core. With his presence, they are already one of the most promising teams, but they also have a special group of youngsters.

Beringer is the latest name, as Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr. deserve all the praise they can get. They will be present at the NBA Summer League, which is the opportunity they must show they can compete alongside Edwards.

With the potential they have shown, the Timberwolves are in good hands. If they continue to develop well, they are set for a bright future, spearheaded by Anthony Edwards as their primary player and the others as his supporting pieces.
