As the NBA enters the offseason, the Boston Celtics are going to look a lot different after having to make moves to stay out of the league's second apron.
The Celtics have already dealt two key pieces from their 2024 championship run, including Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, but now they will pivot towards the health status of star players Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
Jaylen Brown has been recovering from a knee surgery to treat a partially torn meniscus in his right knee, while Jayson Tatum is in a long rehab process after rupturing his Achilles tendon.
Boston's general manager, Brad Stevens, spoke to the press on Tuesday regarding the two Celtics stars.
“We’re not even talking about a timeline for return. We’re not even going there. Jayson [Tatum] is working every single day... We have no reason to believe that Jaylen [Brown] won’t be all cleared and ready to go fairly shortly," Stevens said.

Both injuries are significant and have recovery timelines that will cut into the 2025-26 NBA season.
Since Jayson Tatum's injury was sustained in the Eastern Conference Finals, the 27-year-old has high chances of missing the entire 2025-26 season.
Now for Jaylen Brown, his injury was a lot more minor, and will have a chance of returning as early as the start of the Celtics' training camp in late September.
Boston is going to have to adjust to a season that will be largely without their top scorer the past six seasons in Tatum. With this being known, it will put a lot of pressure on Jaylen Brown even though his health status is going to be questionable heading into the new year.
