A week after it was announced, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has officially signed his supermax extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Fresh off an MVP and NBA championship, the 26-year-old will stick with his squad for the foreseeable future on their voyage as a possible dynasty.

On July 1, Gilgeous-Alexander reportedly signed a four-year, $285 million contract extension. He had two years left on his current deal. It was the most money he could've signed for this offseason. That will keep him in OKC through the 2030-31 season.

It became official on July 8 when the Thunder announced the extension. Good to see OKC sign its franchise star to a third deal. Those who've followed the franchise over the years understand just how difficult that might be.

The Thunder will get a chance to lock down their trio of Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren to long-term deals this summer. They've done so already with one-third of those players. Expect OKC to be in the title conversation for a while.
