The Boston Red Sox are still missing the services of veteran third baseman Alex Bregman, who has not seen action with the team since May 24 because of a strained right quad.
However, it appears that the two-time World Series champion is going to be back with the team sooner rather than later, based on A-Breg's update following the Red Sox's 9-3 takedown of the Colorado Rockies at Fenway Park on Monday.
"Trending toward a return here pretty quickly," Bregman said following the Rockies game, according to Kyle Hightower of the Associated Press. "Whether it's the end of this week or first game after the break. One of those two. But hoping it will be the end of this week."
Bregman, who is on the 10-day injured list, was selected last Sunday for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, though it doesn't seem that he'll be able to participate in the game between the National League and the American League, given his uncertain status.
Nevertheless, the 31-year-old Bregman is not ruling out being at Truist Park in Atlanta for the All-Star break. He even shared a potential plan to bring his son to the 2025 MLB Home Run Derby, as noted by Hightower.
The Derby is among the major highlights of the All-Star break. Eight players will be competing for the title, but only Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins, James Wood of the Washington Nationals, Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners and Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves have committed, thus far.
On the season, Bregman is batting .299/.385/.553 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs through 51 games.
