The Ole Miss Rebels landed another superstar from the Midwest in dynamic four-star athlete Jett Goldsberry. The versatile defensive back will add more unique talent to head coach Lane Kiffin's 2026 high school recruiting class.
The Indiana native announced his commitment on Monday and attributed his decision to the connection he felt with the staff and culture at Ole Miss.
"I really love the past couple seasons of football there. The coaches are top tier in Lane Kiffin, Pete Golding and Wes Neighbors. I just love the culture," Goldsberry said. "Also, just the way the vibe and energy feels here and how close together the staff is. Everything here is just very put together and has a good structure to it."
Goldsberry had a one-of-a-kind junior season at Heritage Hills High School, which is located in Lincoln City, Indiana. He averaged 111.7 rushing yards per game and threw for an average of 120.5 yards per game, racking up 3,575 all-purpose yards and 54 total touchdowns en route to a state title.
However, his impact on the other side of the ball is what the Rebels are recruiting him for. His ability as a defensive back is highlighted by 212 career tackles, four forced fumbles and three interceptions.
Goldsberry's commitment was influenced by the strong connection he was able to build with coach Kiffin and safeties coach Wes Neighbors, both of whom consistently showed belief in his potential and laid out a vision for his future with the Rebels.
"They want me and [coach Kiffin] is glad that I got to come on the visit and hopes to see me in the Red and Blue," Goldsberry said after his visit. "I love coach Neighbors. He's a great dude and he said he loves the way I play and really wants me there."
The rare talent chose Ole Miss over North Carolina, Wake Forest and Purdue, which is his father's alma mater.
It will be exciting to see the ways his diversity will be utilized by coach Kiffin and his staff when Goldsberry joins the Rebels. Ole Miss currently sees him as an all-purpose threat who can impact the game in several ways.
"They plan to use me as a safety and use my strengths of coming downhill and making big plays and then maybe even a little running back, too, if I got the chance," Goldberry told 247Sports.
Goldsberry becomes the second four-star prospect to commit to Ole Miss in just a week, joining JC Anderson, who announced his pledge last Tuesday.
It is clear to see the staff's active investment in the program's future and building a strong foundation in the 2026 class, which features 13 commits now after Goldsberry's announcement.
