Fourteen Watertown Figure Skate Club skaters perform in national event at Michigan

This year’s 2-025 National Showcase included more than 900 competitors from 42 states, three countries and 181 clubs.

ROCHESTER, Mich. — The Watertown Figure Skating Club (WFSC) recently returned from an unforgettable week at the 2025 National Showcase.

This year’s event made history as the largest showcase competition in U.S. Figure Skating history with more than 900 competitors from 42 states, three countries and 181 clubs.

Fourteen WFSC skaters qualified for the event and combined to deliver 25 personal-best performances of the season.

“As their coach, I could not be prouder of how our skaters represented not only the Watertown Figure Skating Club, but also the Watertown community and the entire state of South Dakota,” WFSC Coach Taylor Johnson said. “Their dedication, sportsmanship and passion for performing truly shined.”

  • Joella Stein — Character and Emotional Performance events.
  • Madison Johnson — Character, Comedic, Inflatable and Motown Theme events.
  • Lillianna Schulz — Character event.
  • Brooklyn Bloom — Character and Inflatable events.
  • Elizabeth Reiter — Character and Emotional events
  • Savannah Sovell — Character, Emotional, Inflatable and Motown Theme events.
  • Elin Gossen — Character, Lyrical Pop and Emotional events.
  • Abigail Reeves — Lyrical Pop and Inflatable events.
  • Sarah Hahn — Emotional event.

Top 10 National Finishers

  • Dasia Woertink — Bronze National Champion in the Novice Motown Theme event.
  • Brooklyn Bloom — 10th place in Preliminary Character.
  • Savannah Sovell — 7th place in Pre-Juvenile Motown Theme.

The average competition groups ranged from 30 to 45 skaters in the national program.

The WFSC Production Teams also impressed on the national stage. The WFSC's Silver Mini Production Team finished seventh in a division stacked with established, veteran teams — some fresh from competing at an international event in France.
