The Sacramento Kings have made some key decisions regarding their roster thus far this offseason and more moves are likely coming.

Sacramento began their offseason in the 2025 NBA Draft where they made a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder to move into the first round and select Nique Clifford 24th overall.

They then used their second-round pick to select Stanford center Maxime Raynaud to upgrade their frontcourt.

During free agency, the Kings agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with the Detroit Pistons for Dennis Schroder and also sent Jonas Valanciunas to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Dario Saric.

While the Kings have made moves to upgrade their roster thus far, especially the addition of Schroder who will likely be their starting point guard next season, more moves could be coming as DeMar DeRozan and Malik Monk continue to be in trade rumors.

Sacramento has also been linked to Golden State Warriors restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga and they reportedly sent an offer to the Warriors to try and land him via a sign-and-trade.

According to Warriors insider Anthony Slater, the Kings offered a package of Devin Carter, Dario Saric and draft capital for Kuminga but the Warriors were not intrigued by their offer.

With this package, it is clear that Sacramento was trying to steal Kuminga from Golden State and if they want to work out a deal for him, they will need to upgrade their offer.

Sacramento does have multiple options that could land them Kuminga as they could include Monk or another one of their key players in trade talks, though they may be unwilling to do so.

If that is the case, the Kings may be out of the running for Kuminga, who could be a key piece to their future, especially if Sacramento has another bad season and decides to rebuild next summer.
