Cody Bellinger's incredible double play against the Mets made MLB's list of best plays of the week.

There was at least one bright spot over the holiday weekend for the slumping New York Yankees.
Cody Bellinger’s lead-saving double play against the Mets on Sunday is #4 on MLB’s Top 10 Plays of the Week.
Bellinger did well just to stay on his feet. Running in at full speed and barely getting his glove down to sneak it under the sinking line drive, he could have easily tumbled forward.
But instead of just a nice snag, he keeps his balance and fires a strike from left field to first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to double off the runner. “Somehow the throw was right on the money,” Goldschmidt said. “Right over his shoulder.”
The highlight came at the perfect time for the Yankees, losers of six straight games heading into Sunday. Juan Soto hit the liner to Bellinger in the 7th inning; misplay that ball and the Mets’ best player just got them all the momentum with Pete Alonso coming to the plate as the leading run.
Instead, Bellinger snatched all the momentum for the Yankees and cleared the basepaths. Pressure off.
While it did crack the top-five this week, it is hard to complain that Bellinger was robbed of the top spot.
The #2 play of the week belonged to White Sox Colson Montgomery. In his MLB debut, he did a perfect shortstop Willie Mays impression, somehow making a catch diving back into shallow left field. MLB's play of the week went to Jacob Young, Nationals’ center fielder that perfectly-timed his leap to climb up the wall and rob the Detroit Tigers’ Riley Greene of a home run.
Some walk-off home runs and other sliding catches made their way into the list, but the plays made by Bellinger, Montgomery and Young were 'play of the year' worthy, at least for their own teams.
