WNBA daily slate for Monday July 7, 2025

A doubleheader of hoops!

Sunday featured two road wins on the East Coast before Minnesota edged out Chicago to close the night. Now the WNBA shifts to a Monday doubleheader as we inch closer to the All-Star break, just over a week away.

Here’s what to expect from Monday’s matchups:

Golden State Valkyries at Atlanta Dream

Golden State enters at 9-8 and sits fourth in the Western Conference. The Valkyries are coming off a tough road loss to Minnesota, where Kayla Thompson posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The road continues to be a challenge for Golden State, who has struggled to find consistency away from home.

Atlanta is also looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking one-point home loss to Seattle on Thursday. The Dream, likely fired up after that finish, were led by Nneka Ogwumike’s 24-point performance. Atlanta ranks third in the league in scoring with 84.1 points per game and also sits third in three-point shooting, knocking down 9.3 triples per contest.

Dallas Wings at Phoenix Mercury

The late game features Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings visiting Phoenix. Dallas has had a rough season at 6-13 but has picked up back-to-back wins, including a recent victory over the Mercury. In that game, Aziaha James delivered an impressive 28 points, six rebounds and six assists. Bueckers continues to pace the team with 18.7 points per game.

Phoenix, now 12-6, will be eager for redemption after dropping two straight, including the loss to Dallas. Satou Sabally continues to lead the Mercury with 19.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Both home teams are solid favorites for a reason, but with revenge on the mind and playoff positioning in sight, Monday's matchups could deliver plenty of drama.

Enjoy the games!
