The Sacramento Kings entered the offseason with some key decisions to make regarding their roster after missing the playoffs once again last season.
Sacramento began the offseason by trading into the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft to select Nique Clifford and they then used their second-round pick to draft Maxime Raynaud.
In free agency, the Kings filled their void at the point guard position by signing Dennis Schroder and they also pulled off a trade with the Denver Nuggets that landed them Dario Saric in exchange for Jonas Valanciunas.
Despite these moves, the Kings are expected to continue to be active in free agency and the trade market as Malik Monk and DeMar DeRozan have came up in trade rumors.
While the Kings have been linked to many different players still left unsigned in free agency, they have recently emerged as a potential landing spot for Malcolm Brogdon.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Kings are expected to show interest in Brogdon along with the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns and other teams.

With the Kings in desperate need of depth at the point guard position after trading De’Aaron Fox last season, Brogdon would be a solid addition to their roster as a backup to Schroder.
Of course, Brogdon was the 36th pick in the 2016 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks and he was able to defy the odds and win the Rookie of the Year award.
He spent his first three seasons in Milwaukee before being traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2019.
Over the last two seasons, the 32-year-old guard has played in only 63 games due to injury, including only 24 games last year with the Washington Wizards.
Brogdon is a reliable scorer and playmaker off the bench that would be a major upgrade for the Kings’ point guard depth but with many teams expected to show interest in him, Sacramento may have competition in signing him.
