Indiana Fever Player on Temporary Leave Earns Praise on Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
All eyes have been on the Indiana Fever all season.
The hype of Caitlin Clark entering her second WNBA season and the Fever starting a new journey with head coach Stephanie White forced the attention toward Indiana.
During the 2025 season, while fans have their eyes set on Clark and the rest of the Fever All-Stars, Indiana forward Damiris Dantas put on a show.
Dantas had her contract with the Fever temporarily suspended during the first quarter of the season due to an overseas commitment to the Brazilian national team.
Recently, she participated in the FIBA Women's AmeriCup, helping lead Team Brazil to a silver medal.
After Dantas earned a silver medal with Team Brazil, losing to Team USA in the title game, the Fever sent a message about her masterclass performance.
"A 35-point masterclass from Damiris Dantas in last night’s #AmeriCupW Final," posted the official social media account of the Indiana Fever. "DD led all scorers & the Brazilian National Team to a silver medal."
