Less than a month after the EA Sports College Football release, developers have added "Mr. Brightside" to Missouri gameplay.
Mizzou Fans Delighted After EA Sports College Football '26 Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
When EA Sports College Football '26 released on July 10, Missouri Tigers fans were not very pleased to hear The Killers "Mr. Brightside" play in between the third and fourth quarters during Michigan Wolverines games. Their reason to be upset was warranted.
The popular song is also a tradition at Mizzou games.
Less than a month later, the game's developers have finally righted a wrong.
Among the many updates announced for Wednesday's Title Update , the College Football '26 development team has added "Mr. Brightside" to Missouri gameplay.
"They did it!!!!," one reddit user rejoiced.
Whether Mizzou or Michigan began the tradition of playing "Mr. Brightside" at football games may forever be a hotly contested debate. Mizzou's version of the song is often accompanied by a NSFW chant directed at rival Kansas fans, regardless of who the Tigers are playing.
"I know there is no chance they add “#$%^ KU” chant in there, but lord would that be a cherry on top," another reddit user suggested.
One thing, however, is for certain.
Much like House of Pain's "Jump Around" at Wisconsin or Metallica's "Enter Sandman" at Virginia Tech, The Killers 2003 hit has become a tradition at some college football stadiums across the country. It belongs in EA Sports College Football '26, for Michigan, Mizzou or whichever teams use it for their rallying cry.
Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz, offensive coordinator Kirby Moore and defensive coordinator Corey Batoon are also new to this year's game. As far as player ratings are concerned, three Missouri student-athletes are rated among the Top 100 players - HB Ahmad Hardy, LG Cayden Green, and FS Jalen Catalon. With an overall player rating of 92, Hardy is one of the top rated running backs in the game.
