Watch: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander visits Toronto's SickKids Foundation.
It's August, which means most NBA players are back in their hometowns for the next couple of months. We've reached the driest part of the league calendar, as everybody goes into vacation mode with most offseason moves now complete.
For the Oklahoma City Thunder, their summer involves celebrating an NBA championship. They're fresh off one of the greatest seasons in league history. They had a 68-14 regular-season record with the largest point differential ever.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander cemented his spot as an all-time great. From MVP to NBA Finals MVP, he won about every award imaginable last season on top of his championship ring. The celebrations continued in the offseason with plenty of off-court recognitions and a handsome new supermax contract extension to go along with it.
Back in Canada, Gilgeous-Alexander attended a few events. One being meeting with children and their families at a SickKids Foundation event in Toronto. The NBA posted a video on social media that showed the MVP meeting with several children.
Gilgeous-Alexander has frequently participated in community events and donations. This is the latest example of it. He had the chance to make several kids' days just by interacting with them. The NBA has always done a good job of collaborating with foundations to make things like this possible.
