Aliyah Boston did all she could.

The Indiana Fever needed the rest of the team to step up on Saturday night amid another injury absence for cornerstone superstar Caitlin Clark.

Clark was forced to sit out again on Saturday against the Los Angeles Sparks as she continues to deal with a lingering groin injury. This was the 23-year-old's fifth straight missed contest, and there currently is no firm timetable for her return.

Aliyah Boston got the memo, and the three-time All-Star came up big for Indiana. She dropped a game-high 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting, to go along with 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 32 minutes of action.

Unfortunately for the Fever, not even Boston's strong performance was enough to spare them from their blushes. Despite the 6-foot-5 forward-center's heroics, Indiana still fell to L.A., 89-87.

Boston's praiseworthy outing did not go unnoticed, though. The Fever took to social media after the final buzzer to announce the 23-year-old as the Stat Leader of the Game.

Boston has been on a tear this season, averaging a career-high 16.6 points on 59.7% shooting, 8.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 blocks in 29.9 minutes per game.

Her strong play throughout the campaign led to Boston being voted as a starter in the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, where she will potentially be teammates with Clark, who was named an All-Star Game captain after receiving the most fan votes.

The Fever will need Boston to keep her foot on the gas in their next game as Indiana hosts the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday, especially if Clark is forced to sit out again.
