Fever keep rolling, silence critics with dominant win over Aces

It’s been a strong run of basketball for the Indiana Fever. Instead of letting Caitlin Clark’s groin injury slow them down, the Fever have stepped up and won three straight games without their second-year star, who has been sidelined since June 24.

Indiana now sits at 9-8, third in the Eastern Conference, and can proudly call themselves the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup champions after their win earlier this week over Minnesota.

They followed that with an even more impressive performance, crushing Becky Hammon and the Las Vegas Aces 81-54. The Fever took control early and never looked back.

On Friday, the Fever posted a recap of the game, and it hit just as hard as the win over the Aces.

"From start to finish." the post's caption read.

They followed it up with more praise for their players.

"Kelsey Mitchell stayed hot with her fifth straight 20+ point game, Aliyah Boston tallied 20 points and climbed to fifth in franchise history in rebounds (824), and Natasha Howard notched her third straight double-double in our third consecutive dub," the team wrote.

Mitchell’s performance has been a huge boost for Indiana while Clark continues to recover. Clark has appeared in just nine games this season due to injury and remains questionable for the next matchup.

Another bright spot has been the addition of Aari McDonald, who logged 30 minutes in the win over Las Vegas, scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds. It was the first time in her last five games that she didn’t hit double digits, but her impact on both ends of the floor remains evident.

Indiana will look to make it four straight wins on Saturday evening when it hosts the Los Angeles Sparks. It’s the second of five straight home games for the Fever, who won’t hit the road again until July 15 at Connecticut.
