Not good for the Dodgers.
Shohei Ohtani threw six straight balls, missing badly on all six of them, and left the game with a trainer on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Dodgers are in Cincinnati for the third and final game against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Dodgers were leading the game 2-1 at the time of his leaving the game. He had thrown three innings, allowing five hits and two runs, while striking out four and walking one. Anthony Banda came in out of relief.
He immediately gave up a run in the fourth inning, and Cincinnati tied the game at 2.
While Ohtani was pulled from the game as a pitcher, he did stay in as a hitter, suggesting he was taken out for precautionary reasons related to throwing.

This was the seventh start of the season for Ohtani. Through his first six, he had thrown just 12 innings. During that time, he did not record a win or a loss and had an ERA of 1.50. Ohtani had 13 strikeouts and 3 walks heading into the game.
Of course, at the plate, Ohtani continues to be one of the best players in the game. He is hitting .272 on the season, with 38 home runs and 73 runs batted in. He has also scored 100 runs on the season.
Los Angeles will remain on the road following this game, as they will play three in Tampa Bay over the weekend. Following that, the Dodgers head back home and will host the Cardinals and Blue Jays next week.
