The 2026 Streaming Thread: How Do You Watch Sports?

What are the best and worst plans to stream college sports in 2026?

Hello. My name is MaconDawg (well not really, not on my driver’s license because that would draw some weird looks, but go with it…) and I am still paying for cable.

For years I have vowed that I would be joining the ranks of the cord cutters, those who no longer pay ever-escalating fees just to have access to the Hallmark Channel (which I never watch) and Animal Planet (which I watch precisely once a year when my wife and daughter turn on the Puppy Bowl). The prices keep going up. My television viewing continues to go down. It is a horrible value proposition , one which no sane person would accept.

Except for college sports. As you can imagine, writing several hundred thousand words about college sports every year requires one to actually watch a fair amount of college sports. Unlike commentating on college sports for a television network, which requires either a weird tie, frosted tips, or a Labrador retriever, and preferably some combination of the three.

But I digress. The point is that every year I say I’m going to figure out which streaming services offer me the greatest variety of college football programming for my hard-earned buck, and every year I get into the fifth draft of my presentation to the family and say “Forget this, saving $10 a month ain’t worth it.” Except that now, I suspect it probably is. And that’s where you come in.

Assuming I have no need to catch up on Ted Lasso or Magnum P.I. or Bridgerton (wait, wasn’t that the name of Tom Selleck’s old Navy buddy on Magnum P.I.?) what is my best streaming option for college sports, commentariat?

I’m not averse to paying for more than one service if it gets me all the college football, most of the college basketball, and a surprising variety of college baseball/gymnastics/quidditch. But if there is indeed one streaming service to rule them all in 2026 I’d love to hear about that too. Remember, by sharing your experiences you’re not just helping one doddering oaf, you’re helping our entire community watch sports better. And if you help us save a little coin here and there maybe we can redirect it to NIL and pick up a reserve long snapper. It couldn’t hurt.

I’m counting on you, Dawg Sports readers. What are your current favorite college sports streaming options, and why?

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
