It’s time. Drake Maye, the talent Mack Brown somehow never coached to 10 or more wins, plays in a Super Bowl in only his second pro season.

Maye’s Patriots face Seattle’s league-leading defense, #1 against the run and #2 against the pass based on efficiency metrics. #1 overall. Seattle lost three games this season, one a shoot-out against Tampa Bay (38-35), the other two low scoring affairs against the 49ers (17-13) and the Rams (21-19). The Seahawks got to the Super Bowl by blowing out the 49ers (41-6) and winning the red zone battle against the Rams (31-27).

The Patriots navigated their playoff field with a stifling defense of their own and some big plays at the right time from their young QB. The defense in the playoffs has allowed less than nine points per game and forced eight turnovers. The Patriots’ run to the Super Bowl went through the Texans’ and Broncos’ defenses, both league leaders, as well as the Chargers’. While Maye and the Pats came out on top in all three games, Maye was sacked five times per game with six fumbles (three lost) and two interceptions. On the other hand, Maye made huge plays with his arms and legs to win all three games. He hasn’t been perfect behind two rookies on the left side of the offensive line, but he’s been clutch.

So, what are your predictions for the Super Bowl? Drake and Mack personally?
