No one verbally threw former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patillo under the bus for the underwhelming 2025 offensive performances, but he clearly took the brunt of the blame. Still, head coach Nick Sirianni said that the fault for their failures didn’t fall on just on one person.

As the Eagles turn to their new offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, A.J. Brown came to his former OC’s defense one more time when speaking to Micah Parsons at an event ahead of Super Bowl LX.

”Sometimes change is not a bad thing. I have the utmost respect for KP [Kevin Patullo]. To me, he did a tremendous job, and he has a great heart. But, I’m excited for the season, I’m excited for what’s to come.“

Brown seems like he’s trying to make some kind of statement, because to say Patullo did a tremendous job when the product was so poor doesn’t quite add up. At minimum, he’s indicating that the former OC was not the (only) problem, while acknowledging it was probably time for change.

We haven’t heard from Brown since the Eagles lost their first round playoff game, but his tone regarding the team sounds positive and optimistic.
