GLENDALE – The induction of legendary Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald into the Hall of Fame was solidified on Thursday the NFL Honors. A no-brainer decision, but a heartwarming moment for one o the most well-respected football players in recent memory. The moment became even sweeter with a full circle moment by how Fitzgerald found out about his enshrinement.

Fellow Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss surprised Fitzgerald to tell him about him making the 2026 class.

Moss surprises Fitzgerald with Hall of Fame:

Not only is the moment special because Fitzgerald is a Minneapolis, Minnesota native, and Moss was one of his favorite players. The interaction completes a circle for the 42-year-old’s football career, as he started his NFL career as a ball boy for Moss and the Vikings. Before he was an 11-time Pro Bowler, Fitzgerald was able to watch how a future Hall of Famer trains and said it was essentially to him early in his career.

The two-time Pro Bowler was drafted third overall in the 2004 draft, well out of reach for his hometown team Minnesota. Regardless, Fitzgerald was able to carve out his own path in Arizona, putting together an all-time 17 year career. Surpassing moss on the all-time receiving yards list and making it second overall with 17,492.

While Thursday’s announcement was expected, the moment between the two first-ballot Hall of Famers puts into perspective how one’s influence can fuel them to even greater success.
