DeWanna Bonner was waived by the Indiana Fever on June 25 after appearing in just nine games with the team. The six-time WNBA All-Star started three of them, but after realizing her role wasn’t what she had envisioned when signing with the Fever this past offseason, she stepped away from the team.

“...Despite our shared goals and excitement heading into the season, I felt the fit did not work out and I appreciate the organization’s willingness to grant my request to move on, particularly at this point in my career,” Bonner said. “I wish the Fever great success as they continue to build around this dynamic group of young players.”

After taking some time off, the 37-year-old signed with the Phoenix Mercury on July 8 — the team that drafted her fifth overall in the 2009 WNBA Draft. Bonner’s return marked a sweet reunion for both sides, as she had spent the first 10 seasons of her career there.

Meanwhile, she took to social media on Saturday to share photos of herself on the court in uniform and off the court in a dress.

"Mixing Business with Pretty 💕," Bonner captioned the post.

Among the many comments she received was one from her former Fever teammate, Natasha Howard.

"Clock it 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾," Howard said.

Bonner and Howard only spent nine games together as teammates but have known each other for a while. Both veterans in the league, they have also played together in an All-Star Game.

They'll get to face off against each other soon, with Bonner's return to Indiana to face Howard and Caitlin Clark scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN3.
