FC Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez is all set to renew his contract with the club, committing until 2031, with the formal signing of the deal and announcement expected to take place today, reports Jijantes FC.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been in fine form for the Blaugrana in recent weeks, constantly chipping in with vital goal contributions in the final third.
Given his form and standing within the squad, the Blaugrana felt the need to improve his salary and hand him a new contract.
An agreement has been reached, with Fermin reportedly set for a 50% raise in his salary while also seeing his release clause amount double from €500 million to €1 billion.
Speaking about the renewal earlier this week, he had said: “Yes, things are going pretty well, there are still a few things to sort out, but I intend to stay at Barça, which is the most important thing for me.
“And the truth is that I hope it happens soon and I’m very happy.”

Barça and Fermin will sign the final documents today, and the announcement could come in the next few hours, even as the team continues to prepare for Saturday’s La Liga clash against Elche CF.
Having made his first-team breakthrough under Xavi Hernandez during the 2023/24 campaign, Fermin had signed a long-term contract with Barcelona in October 2024, committing his future to the club until 2029.
Now, he will see two more years getting added onto his deal, along with a substantial increase in his salary and release clause amount.
So far this term, the La Masia graduate has produced a return of ten goals and 11 assists from 26 matches across all competitions, emerging as a standout contributor for Hansi Flick’s team.
