Purdue takes a big drop after two straight losses.
Last week was a rough one for Purdue. The Boilers lost two games by a total of 8 points, and it led both games by muiple possessions at the final media stop. They are losses that really sting, especially since one came at home. Neither could be called a bad loss. Both were to NCAA Tournament teams, but Purdue has been playing with fire lately and finally got burned. As a result, the Boilers dropped to 12 this week and are now behind four other Big Ten teams as the top of the league is really good.
There is time to turn this around, and if the Boilers play to their abilities this fall will only be brief. There is still a chance to beat Nebraska, Michigan, and Michigan State to erase these last two losses, but work needs to be done. Purdue is still very good, but it is far from Elite right now.
