Pleasant played collegiately for the University of Wisconsin from 2005-2009. He went undrafted before immediately starting his career in coaching at Grand Blanc High School in Michigan. From 2011-2012, he was a graduate assistant and assistant defensive backs coach at Michigan.

During the past two preseasons, Pleasant was given the chance to act as the Rams head coach in a game against the Chargers. Pleasant went 2-0 in those games, winning 13-9 in 2024 and 23-22 in 2025.

This past season, the Rams finished with the 20th-ranked passing defense, allowing 223.1 yards through the air per game. The prior year, they ranked 19th and allowed an average of 216.7 passing yards per game.
