Eagles OC job has gotten more complicated.
The Eagles are not expected to bring in Giants head coach Brian Daboll as their next offensive coordinator.
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Daboll wants the Bills’ head coaching job. But if he doesn’t land it, he is expected to become the Titans’ offensive coordinator.
Daboll has become the second high-profile OC candidate to exit Philadelphia’s search in the last two days.
On Tuesday night, the Chargers hired Mike McDaniel as their next offensive coordinator.
Russini reported last week that Daboll and McDaniel ranked at the top of the Eagles’ wish list. The Eagles now must pivot to less prominent OC options.
The Eagles have interviewed or requested interviews with former Falcons OC Zac Robinson, former Buccaneers OC Josh Grizzard, former Texans OC Bobby Slowik, former Giants OC Mike Kafka and current Colts OC Jim Bob Cooter.
The team has also expressed interest in LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., according to multiple reports.
None of those candidates are sure-fire options.
Over the next week, the Eagles will likely set up additional interviews with other OC candidates. They have not yet been connected to Kliff Kingsbury or Joe Brady, two of the top remaining options.
