UFC’s early 2026 schedule has already hit a few snags, and another one just popped up.

Just yesterday, UFC 324 had to scrap its co-main event featuring Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes.

Harrison pulled out after a neck injury that needed surgery, leaving the card without one of its key matchups.

Now, another bout has been removed from an upcoming card.

Whenever the UFC heads to Australia, Jimmy Crute is usually part of the line-up. Fans were looking forward to seeing him in action again.

The Australian light heavyweight was scheduled to face Dustin Jacoby at UFC 325 in Sydney, at the end of this month. Both fighters are known for their finishing ability and have built reputations as exciting match-ups.

There was a lot of anticipation around this bout, with many expecting it to be a contender for Fight of the Night honour.

Crute addressed the situation on Instagram: “Good morning, everyone. I have some pretty disappointing news,” he began. “On Monday, I completely ruptured my ACL. I’m out of my fight against Dustin.”

“I’m extremely disappointed. I’m obviously very disappointed and gutted, but I think I can use this opportunity to grow with patience. In nine, 10 months, I’ll come back stronger. More in tune with my body, stronger legs.

“God is good, and there’s a reason for this, so, yeah. Little speed bump, but I’ll be back stronger.”

No word yet on whether Jacoby will remain on the card with a new opponent or if he will be pulled entirely.

Alexander Volkanovski addresses retirement rumours ahead of UFC 325

Speculation has been growing about whether Alexander Volkanovski might step away from the sport after UFC 325.

The featherweight champion is set to put his title on the line in a rematch against Diego Lopes, headlining the Sydney event.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Volkanovski shared his perspective on retirement talk: “I don’t know where (the retirement rumours) came from exactly.

“If I were to get beaten up, would I come back to fight? No. But that’s not in my plans.

“Unless things go horrendously wrong, I’m planning on going back out there. Whether it’s the next one taking on an undefeated fighter in the UFC or something like that, that’s appealing, maybe that’s one I could finish up on.

“Right now, I plan on everything going well, getting my hand raised and taking minimal damage so I can have a quick turnaround and continue fighting.”
