On January 14th redshirt Sophomore quarterback Dante Moore announced he would turn down a top 5 NFL Draft projection and return to Oregon in 2026.
That announcement came days after former Nebraska legacy and 5-star quarterback Dylan Raiola committed to transfer to Oregon.
Moore began his college career in UCLA before transferring to Oregon prior to the 2024 season. A season that would see now NFL player Dillon Gabriel under center for the Ducks. Before Moore could take over for the 2025 season.
Raiola sitting behind Moore is not a new dynamic for the Ducks. According to Sports Illustrated, when asked about the addition of Raiola, Moore spoke of the quarterback room and doing for Raiola what Gabriel did for Moore.
“I know when he comes here, he's gonna be a great guy for the QB room,” the redshirt sophomore said. “I’m gonna make sure to give him the thoughts that Dillon Gabriel did for me.”
Moore and Raiola, even before a single game is played, make up arguably the best quarterback “room” in all of the Power 4 teams.
Moore is coming off his best statistical season to date. Totaling almost 3,600 yards, 30 touchdowns, 10 interceptions on almost 72% passing and most importantly a 13-2 record.

In 2025, Raiola played in nine games and amassed 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns to only six interceptions on almost 73% passing.
Oregon’s National title hopes ended with a significant loss to Indiana in the semifinals. Oregon should expect to be in the National Title chase again in 2026. Oregon currently owns the No. 6 recruiting class heading into 2026 as well as a top 30 transfer ranking.
A solidified quarterback room for the Ducks can only help their chances as Dan Lanning pursues a first National Championship as a coach.
