Fans Are Asking the Same Thing About Sophie Cunningham After Indiana Fever's New Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever are back in action on Tuesday following an eventful All-Star weekend. They return to action in a road game against the New York Liberty, who they suffered a 99-78 blowout road loss to on Wednesday.
Unfortunately for the Fever, they will need to battle Sabrina Ionescu and Co. without the services of Caitlin Clark. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was ruled out again due to a lingering groin injury.
Indiana took to Instagram on Monday evening to share photos of the players boarding the team plane for their flight to New York. The fans, however, noticed the same thing about guard Sophie Cunningham and her absence from the pictures.
"Where’s Sophie????" a comment on Instagram read.
"same question," a user agreed.
"Where’s sophieeee," asked a supporter.
"that’s my question too," another said.
"We were so invested at Sophie and questioned her whereabouts. 😂 Where’s My Sophie? ❤️ We demand an update @indianafever ! 😂" a reaction read.
"Sophie??????????? Even the last practice pics wasn’t there????????" said another.
Cunningham has emerged as one of Indiana’s most prominent stars this season, and she has been featured heavily in the team’s social media posts of late. That is why more than a few Fever supporters could not help asking about her whereabouts after seeing the latest set of team photos.
Even Clark, who has no firm timetable to return after reaggravating her groin injury, was in the pictures as she joined the Fever for their trip to the Big Apple despite her injury.
It is worth noting that as of writing, there is no word on any injury to Cunningham, and the 6-foot-1 guard is fully expected to suit up against New York on Tuesday.
In 18 games played this season, Cunningham has put up averages of 6.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 triples in 23.1 minutes per contest.
