The Ohio State Buckeyes have cemented themselves as one of, if not the best, football programs in all of college football.

Coming into this season as defending national champions, there were tremendous expectations, as there always are with Ohio State. The Buckeyes were ranked No. 3 in the Preseason AP Top 25 Poll.

Ohio State had an undefeated regular season, and yet it still feels like the Buckeyes did not meet expectations. The Buckeye faithful have not seen their program win the Big Ten championship since 2020. This is, of course, due to them falling to the now No. 1 team in the country, the Indiana Hoosiers.

If this were last season, Ohio State would be preparing to play in the first round since only the conference winners got byes. However, the Buckeyes benefit from a much-needed rule change that grants the top four seeds the first-round byes instead.

Since Ohio State is the No. 2 team in the country, it receives a bye regardless of its loss in the Big Ten championship.

Ohio State will play the winner of No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 10 Miami in the quarterfinal.
