York, entering his second season as a captain for the Aggies, expressed his excitement and readiness for his junior year and to take care of business against the SEC at Kyle Field.
"Rule number one, you've got to protect Kyle Field," York said, according to Texas A&M Aggies On SI. ". . . You have to take care of [it]. That's the homeland. Kyle Field is not something we take for granted. The power of the 12th Man is real. We'll be ready to play with them for sure."
Texas A&M's schedule opens with two home games against UTSA and Utah State and three more after its bye week in Week 4. The Aggies will face three SEC schools at Kyle Field, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Florida before heading to Arkansas. York told media that he's prepared to stand ground in College Station, protect his home stadium, and run the SEC with the Aggies.
"I'm excited," York said. "These guys are very receptive to my leadership, and I'm thankful for that."
As a sophomore in 2024, York tallied 82 total tackles (35 solos and 47 assists), which included 9.5 tackles for a 31-net yard loss. He also had 2.5 sacks for 13 yards, one fumble recovery, one interception, two quarterback hurries, and four pass breakups. Two pass breakups came during the Las Vegas Bowl game against USC.
Kickoff at Kyle Field against UTSA to open the 2025 regular season is slated for 7 p.m. on Aug. 30.
