Real Madrid want €15 million for out-of-favour star; La Liga club offer only €5 million

Dani Ceballos is once again one of the names circulating in the transfer market. As has been the case in recent summers, his future at Real Madrid remains uncertain, and Real Betis are once again monitoring the situation closely.

A return to his former club appears complicated, mainly due to Real Madrid’s demands and the player’s salary.

Real Madrid want €15 million

Indeed, according to AS, Real Betis are only offering €5 million to Real Madrid for Ceballos, who are asking for €15 million to let him go.

The Spanish midfielder is not in the plans of manager Xabi Alonso, who barely used him during the FIFA Club World Cup after taking over from Carlo Ancelotti.

The likes of Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, and Arda Guler, now seen as a midfielder, are all ahead of Ceballos in the pecking order.

So, despite the departure of Luka Modric, he is unlikely to see regular game-time and as such, an exit is very much a possibility.

Real Betis have emerged as a potential destination, but there is a major disparity in the amount they are offering (€5 million) and what Real Madrid are expecting (€15 million).

Ceballos’ cryptic post

While currently on holiday, Ceballos posted the following message on Instagram: “Nothing gives more peace of mind than saying ‘I tried everything.’”

According to the report, this message possibly refers to his efforts to secure a move to Betis. The midfielder, for his part, would be willing to lower his wages to return, but the difference in the fee being demanded and offered remains a hurdle.

Ceballos ended up deleting his post a few hours later after seeing the reaction it caused on social media.

Just a few days ago, the Real Madrid player publicly expressed his desire to play for Betis again one day.

“Betis is my home and it always will be. I hope the door stays open forever. We will talk about the future after this week. There have not been any meetings yet,”he said.
