The battle for season points championships is starting to heat up for area stock car drivers.
WATERTOWN — Mother Nature put another damper on another planning racing program on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Casino Speedway.
The racing season was delayed a week by a postponement on opening day and was followed by four straight racing programs. Since then, four of the past six scheduled events at Casino have been wiped out by rain or heat.
The DRC.-TV Street Stock Tour will highlight the next weekly racing program on Sunday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m.
Other racing programs are scheduled for Sundays Aug. 3, 10 and 24 and Saturday, Aug. 16 before the Season Championship program on Sunday, Sept. 31.
The battle for season points titles is very much up in the air. Todd Stark of Watertown (266 points) leads fellow Watertown drivers Tommy Nichols (262) and Terry Reilly (234) in the Midwest modifieds.
Andy Rossow of Florence (261) has the lead in the street stock class, followed by Maria Broksieck of Goodwin (248) and Jayden Bogh of Huron (232). Trevor Walsh of Watertown is first (262), Curt Kranz of Watertown second (256) and Tony Croninger of Watertown thrid (253) in the Gen X late model division.
Chad Becker of Aberdeen (257), Jayson Good of Watertown (252) and Trevor Anderson (246) lead the way in the late model class. Mike Stearns of Aberdeen (208), Nate Heinrich of Bellingham, MN (205) and Adam Brotherton of Huron (193) are the frontrunners in the modified class.
Jeff Rohner of Willmar, MN (223) holds the top spot in the hornets class, followd by Nathan Smith of Watertown (199) and Christian Kast of Fairmount, ND (194).

Miller Central Speedway
MILLER — Area drivers Trevor Nelson of Warner, Dylan Zabel of Selby and Mike Stearns of Aberdeen each won features during a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, July 18, 2025.
Nelson (super stocks) and Stearns (late model) each won features each night. Zabel won the modified feature on Friday.
The next scheduled racing program at the track is Saturday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m.
With three scheduled events remaining, Stearns holds a one-point lead in the late model standings. Stark (Midwest modifieds), Broksieck (street stocks) and Nelson are each second in their respective classes.
Fiesta City Speedway
MONTEVIDEO, Minn. — The racing program on Friday, July 18 started but didn't finish because of rain.
The Pure Stock and Hornet Special is scheduled for Friday, July 25, at 7 p.m.
Three events are scheduled before the special Monday Labor Day Season Championship races on Sept. 1. Season points leaders include area drivers T. Croninger (Gen X Late Models); Scott Tofte of Madison, MN (Midwest modifieds); and Zachary Flickinger of Madison, MN (street stocks).
Four events are scheduled for the Season Championships on Friday, Aug. 22. Nate Heinrich of Bellingham (MN) currently leads the modified divison. Fellow area drivers Darren Engesser of Gary (Midwest modifieds), Shawn Schnabel of Aberdeen (super stocks) and Bradley Rossow of Florence (hornets) are each in third place.
Brown County Speedway
ABERDEEN — The Dacotah Bank Rumble doubleheader (featuring Tri-State Late Models Special and the DRC.TV Street Stock Tour) is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 25-26, at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen. Racing opens at 7 a.m. each night.
Another racing program is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 1, before the Season Championship races on Friday, Aug. 22.
Stark currently leads the Midwest modified division point standings, followed by Zabel and Taylor Schmidt of Aberdeen. Jayden Bogh of Huron is on top in street stocks, followed by Rossow and Kyle Bertram of Dallas.
Becker holds the lead in the late model division ahead of Kent Arment of Aberdeen and Thomas Weisgram of Northville. Stearns, Brotherton and Arment are 1-2-3, respectively, in the modified class.
Austin Arbogast of Huron and Mark Abeln of Groton share the super stocks lead. Stuart Schipke of Aberdeen is third.
Madison Speedway
MADISON, MN — The regular weekly racing program at Madison (MN) Speedway is slated for Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m.
Three events are scheduled before the special Monday Labor Day Season Championship races on Sept. 1.
Season points leaders include area drivers T. Croninger (Gen X Late Models); Scott Tofte of Madison, MN (Midwest modifieds); and Zachary Flickinger of Madison, MN (street stocks).
Special races at Canby
Gen X late models, Midwest modifieds, street stocks and hornets will battle during the Yellow Medicine County Fair races on Thursday, July 24, at Renegade Speedway in Canby, MN. Racing opens at 7 p.m.
