The Cam Johnson trade was the first step to a fantastic summer for the Denver Nuggets. The former Brooklyn Nets forward is showing up in the Mile High City with one clear goal in mind: bringing another title to Denver.

Johnson had his introductory press conference with the Nuggets on Friday. The newest running mate of Nikola Jokic told the room that a team-first mentality is what comes with him to Denver (h/t Katy Winge).

"I want to win. I want to win a championship," Johnson told everyone in attendance.

The newest Nuggets forward also made sure everyone knew shooting is not the only thing he can bring to Denver. There is a ton of truth to be found in that statement.

Shooting will undoubtedly be the main part of his game that will catch anyone's eye off the bat. That is due to how well it slots in beside the Nuggets superstar center.

Johnson averaged 18.8 points per game in the 2024-25 campaign for the Nets. The skilled forward shot 47.5 percent from the field, 39.0 percent from 3-point land, and 89.3 percent from the free throw line. The former lottery pick fell just short of the 50-40-90 club.

The impressive volume at which Johnson was doing damage from beyond the arc is notable too. The former Nets star was hitting that 39.0 percent on 7.2 attempts per game.

Nuggets fans would be forgiven for drooling at the idea of Johnson being on the receiving end of the wide open looks that Jokic is able to generate. On top of that, their newest supporting cast member is far better at creating his own shot than the departing Michael Porter Jr.

That should offer some comfort that Johnson will not stagnate on the court without the three-time MVP. Throw in that he's a capable defender at the other end and there is all the more reason for Denver to keep celebrating the addition.
